When the teachers' 3-Tiered Licensure System was passed into law in New Mexico, it did not include the support & related services personnel. As a result, many counselors, therapists, nurses, social workers and interpreters were falling behind their teacher colleagues in terms of salary. In order to address this situation in the Albuquerque Public Schools, the Albuquerque Teachers Federation negotiated and developed the APS/ATF Support and Related Services Career Pathway System.

The Career Pathway System is not a licensure system, but a way for these professionals to advance in their careers here in APS. On the next page, you will find links to all forms and documents that are relevant to the Career Pathway System and the portfolio required to advance within it.
